  • Very nice trail with nice views. Not for beginners.

  • Great beginner trail! You still need to be relatively fit to make it to the top. Wouldn't recommend for small children.

  • Hiking experience: this is rather good leg workout in spectacular surroundings. 20 minutes drive from Downtown Ottawa. Depending on the season you might see actual waterfalls. Midsummer - no waterfalls. Hiking is quite challenging (check pictures to understand why): if you have any issues walking or have problems with cardio - please avoid it: there are plenty of other nice places in Gatineau Park with much easier access. It is not recommended after your leg day - this will be your leg day! 20 min uphills - 1st lookout, 40 minutes from the start - 2nd lookout, 1:15min from the start - Firetower (end). Return all the way takes roughly 55 minutes. This timing is rather relaxed. Has parking at the beginning of the trail: on April 23, 2017 - parking was full at noon with plenty of cars parked on a side of the road: better time is before 11 am. Toilets and large picnic area near parking. You need proper footwear (No slippers - you will literally kill yourself on your way back). During sunny days - a hat and sunglasses are advised. Kids under 7 on the trail are not advised neither are small dogs. You do need to have water with you: roughly 1L per person (you will survive with 0.5L but it will be harder to do especially in the Summer when it is plus 30). There some nice views, but I would not take heavy cameras just for them. Some mosquitoes and flies might be present depending on the season (I've been there on Aug. 1st). I am not an expert, however it looks like some poison ivy is there. Overall: nice quick fix for office people: in less than two and half hours you can barely walk, enjoyed Nature and full of fresh air! Taking timing into account: It is kind of obvious, but I advise to schedule your trip that you are back before it gets dark.

  • Very nice trials with restroom at the base. Small parking lot so if you don't want to park on the road you want to come early. Very nice views and very doable even if you're not the most in shape. However the beginning is the hardest part as its quite inclined but after it gets easier. Take breaks and enjoy the scenery and I'm sure it'll be a great time.

  • This is a demanding but doable trail for the out-of-shape. It's probably no great challenge for more serious hikers. The trail features a couple of scenic lookout points and several nice views of the Luskville Falls. For the best experience, come in the spring when the Falls are at their most impressive; they dwindle away to nearly nothing later in the year.
