- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆The Champlain lookout is worth the visit in itself, but this short hiking trail is a nice addition to a trip. The trail is a short loop through the woods, beginning just below the lookout and ending at the parking lot. Along the way there's a particularly dramatic view from a wooden lookout platform perched on the edge of the escarpment. As the trail is short and not particularly steep at any point, it makes a good choice for families with small children.By Andrew Wolgemuth, November 18, 2016
